Some of my students and myself went on a special trip to the Peterborough Petroglyphs. The Peterborough Petroglyphs consist of the largest concentration of Aboriginal rock carvings in Canada, they are between 600-1100 years old. The Canadian Government built a special building to protect this national treasure.
I have been to a lot of fabulous places throughout the years but this one is in my top three. When we went to the park it was open to the public, but we ended up having the place to ourselves. The coordinator informed us that there was a vehicle that came to the park around the time we were there, but they turned around and left. I believe a little bit of intervention happened here and it was meant to be this way.
The Aboriginal energy in this building was incredible... we heard drumming and chanting, and we could feel the Aboriginal spirits all around us. My spirit guide Grey Owl stepped forward and told us about the rock carvings and the special markings and what they meant. My spirit animal who was a bear also stepped forward and he came in from the direction of the west. I wrote a special meditation for the event and because we had the building to ourselves, I was able to facilitate the meditation to the group. The coordinator confirmed that everything Grey Owl said about the rock cravings and their meanings were correct and the direction my spirit animal the bear came in from was correct based on the four sacred directions of the Medicine Wheel. Another example of intervention that happened here is that no other group has been allowed to do a meditation in amongst the Petroglyphs before, but we were given permission to do so.
Because pictures are not allowed to be taken in there, due to the delicate condition of the Petroglyphs the picture of the Petroglyphs was taken by professionals under special lighting for post cards. The picture of the talking stick was taken by me, I purchased it at The Petroglyphs gift shop. The talking stick was carved by an Aboriginal tribe and it has my spirit animal the bear on it, I had to have it. This event is one that I still talk about today.
